I’m on day 5 of no contact and this is usually when I feel the urge to break it. I miss him a lot and keep thinking about texting, but I also know it will only hurt me more. How do I push through this stage without giving in? Has anyone else gone through this, and what helped you stay strong?

when i felt the urge, i’d do something tiny but distracting… even just taking a shower or walking around the block. the wave usually passed quicker than i thought.
yeah actually it helped because the urge it's still their not fully gone but It's not like that time when a day passes I reward myself that keeps me motivated
day 5 was hell for me too. i remember staring at my phone, typing his name, deleting it, crying, repeating. what got me through was realizing the “relief” of texting him was always temporary, but the crash after was worse. i don’t miss those crashes.
wow seeing this makes me feel better coz I can relate
write on 100 post it: It s just Hormoneeees- the oxytocin we have in our body being attached to him and missing him will lessen in 3 months. so leave the postits eeeeeverywhere: in a pan, in a drawer, on the mirror, in your shoes. and remind yourself IT JUST HOMROOONES 💕💕💕
It's crazy how powerful attachment can feel in our bodies.I'll actually try the post-it idea
I broke no contact after 5 days. We couldn't even make it through 24 hours. Now I can't reach him anymore
Honestly, that’s my biggest fear too that I’ll reach out and regret it. It’s really hard, but your story reminds me why I need to stay strong. Thanks for sharing.
day 9, i know i’m just gaslighting myself that everything is okay even tho it is not
I get this so much. I feel like I’m lying to myself every day just to keep going. But making it to day 9 is huge, it gives me hope that maybe I can get there too.
I am just starting the no contact. but I think what can help is to distract yourself in other things, more important.
When you feel the urge to text, stop and breathe. think what could happen, will he reply in the way you want him to?
In my case, I know he is going to be rude to me so that stops me from texting him.
That’s really good advice. I never thought of pausing to ask myself if his reply would even make me feel better. Thank you, I’ll try this next time I feel like texting.
Gurlie, im going through this for 4 days now. The only thing which helped me get better is going outside and talking to people. I still cry myself to sleep but i see that im crying less day by day. We will be okay and get back to being our best selves one day. You know that right?
I still cry a lot too, but hearing you say it gets a little easier makes me feel like maybe I can survive this.
the shit part about no contact is the more we keep contacting them first, the more they get a chip on their shoulder that we will always be around and do the work first, so they don’t have to.
I go through it daily. I’m on day 4. I try and just distract myself because if I keep thinking about it it makes me anxious. I think part of me also knows there’s a good chance she won’t reply and then it sets your clock back all for nothing.
I relate to this so much. The anxiety really builds up when I overthink. Distracting myself feels impossible sometimes, but reading that you’re on day 4 and still pushing helps me keep going
@Krissy I’m not going to be someone who’s gonna say oh yeah it’s gonna be totally better in a week. I think it really stays hard for awhile and I’m not saying that to scare you because trust me it also scares me, but some days WILL be better than others. like today has been an okay day for me, not nearly as bad. and this is coming from a guy who lives alone, and is currently outta work. so trust me all I have is time.
