Feeling abandoned in my interfaith relationship

Has anyone here been in a relationship where your partner followed a different religion... ? My ex is Muslim and I am Christian. I feel like he abandoned me for his religious duties, yet I would give up my world for him. Am I alone in this experience? đź’”

am also patient on this it's the same problem I have, I am a Catholic and my Muslim boyfriend wants me to change my religion he want me to join his religion, I love him but am not ready to leave Catholic religion

I went through the exact same thing... He implied that we didn't have a future together unless I became Muslim. I found it unfair that I had to give up everything I've known, while he got to stick to his religion.

are you feeling like he chose religion over you, or like he never really fought for you in the first place?

A bit of both

i’m gonna be real, if you feel abandoned for his religious duties, that gap was always going to ache

i dated someone whose family and faith always came first, and i kept shrinking myself hoping love would be enough. it hurts when you’re ready to give up everything and they won’t even bend a little.

yeah I can understand that, especially since it's Ramadan
Unless you're very sure of the relationship, most Muslim men who date would eventually marry another Muslim woman

I like your way of thinking love ❤️

some men will always find a reason to abandon us, if not religion it would be something else. Muslim men can marry Christian women, the religion allows it.
