Why does it hurt this much?
We’ve been together for seven years. We were supposed to get married next year build a home together and share our lives with two cats and a dog.
Today he told me he hasn’t been happy for months some days he feels 80–90% happy other days only 20%. He admitted he’s developed feelings for a girl at work though he still has feelings for me. Then he said we need to break up… and now it’s over.
I’m in so much pain. I still love him. I’m terrified I’ll never meet someone else that no one will ever love me again. He says he wants us to stay friends but I don’t even know what I want. Right now I just feel numb and broken. The man I thought I’d spend my life with my best friend the one person I could truly be myself with has shattered me.
