In the end she left, and I spent so much of our relationship assuring her I wouldn't leave, but in the end she was the one who left and it really hurts but she says she needs to focus on herself

man that line about you assuring her you wouldn’t leave… that hit. did she start pulling away before she said she needed to focus on herself, or did it just drop on you out of nowhere?
i spent a year promising my ex i’d never walk away too, then one day she said she needed to “focus on herself” and that was it. the silence after giving someone that much reassurance hurts like hell.

you are not alone in those feelings friend. he did the same to me and he still abandoned, betrayed, and lied to me. keep your head up, keep moving forward, and take some comfort in knowing youre not alone.
