I met a girl in 11th grade; she was in 10th. At first, I didn’t have any feelings for her, but over time, I felt drawn to her. There was something captivating about the way she spoke to others, her voice, her eyes, and her hair. We didn’t interact much because we came from different social circles. I was shy and considered a bit of a nerd, so I never had the courage to approach her, especially since she already had a boyfriend.
When I moved up to 12th grade, her boyfriend switched schools, and they broke up. One day, I saw a screenshot on her story of a chat with a guy who flirted with her, and she responded with some harsh words. That made me happy, but a month later, she posted that she was in a relationship with someone else. I was shocked but couldn’t stop thinking about her until I graduated.
After taking a year off from studies for personal reasons, I'm now heading to college in a different city. I found out that she’s still in our hometown and attending a local college. I doubt she even remembers me at this point.
It wasn’t the kind of heartbreak people usually talk about, but it did hurt. Now, it’s just a memory. I’ve moved on, and though I don’t think we’ll ever cross paths again, well, that’s life for you ?.
