God, I know I’ve been doing better since the breakup

Author

God, I know I’ve been doing better since the breakup, but he just sent me the most bittersweet message, and it stirred up everything again. Does it really get easier? I honestly don’t want to go no contact, even though I know I probably should. Deep down, I still wish we could get back together.

It's important to listen to your heart.
If you feel like no contact is the right thing for you, then go for it. But if you're still holding onto hope, that's okay too.

Babe, going no contact feels like absolute torture, but I’ve realized—twice now—that it’s for the best. It does get better with time. :(

I was in a similar place recently. My ex sent me the most bittersweet messages, and we ended up seeing each other a few times. It only made it harder for me to let him go. Before that, I hadn’t seen or spoken to him for months, and I felt like I was finally making real progress. But the moment I saw him again, all that progress unraveled. :(

Now I’m back to square one, feeling even more heartbroken. I know the thought of no contact seems unbearable, but it’s the best choice in the long run. Wishing you healing and hoping you feel better soon.
