So we broke up like 8 weeks ago. He said he wanted to stay friends.
He’d text me I’d reply and then boom—he’d just leave me on read.
Anyway today’s his birthday. We haven’t talked since last Thursday.
This morning he sends me a reel about what a good mom I am. I left him on read.
Feels like he’s just checking if I remember it’s his birthday.
Why do I feel guilty tho???
Like he cheated on me and jumped straight to his side piece.

don’t get why I feel guilty about this. Like, I didn’t even do anything to him.He was so awful to me those first two weeks after he left.

@Elspeth043 I felt super guilty for like the first three weeks and sometimes I still wake up feeling that way. But honestly my flaws wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for someone who actually loved me. So I realized that person didn’t really love me. Now, I feel guilty for just being too nice, and honestly, you’re being way too nice to him too. He treated me so badly during the breakup, and everything he said was total BS. I didn’t even fully get it until I told someone the whole story and they were like, You’re being way too nice to him. They just found some excuse to dump you.

But then I’m like would a real friend treat me the way he’s been treating me? No way.
