Me, 20M, and my gf, 22F have been together for 1.5 years..well we were till now.
Shes got bipolar disorder, so sometimes shes all lovey dovey and other times shes not feeling it. But today, she hit me with - I mostly don’t love you. Apparently she only feels love when shes super happy. The rest of the time when shes normal or depressed, she feels like shes just with me cuz shes got no one else. She even said she thinks I’m ugly sometimes.
We broke up for 3 months before and she admitted she only came back cuz she felt lonely and couldn’t find anyone else. Which makes no sense, cuz she’s attractive, and guys are always hitting on her, so idk why she thinks she had no options.
She did say I’m a good person and supportive, but she just doesn’t think she loves me. And now she wants a breakup to work on herself.
It sucks hearing all this, ngl. Just wanted to share and see what you all think. Any advice?

she literally said she came back 'cause she couldn’t find anyone better. If someone had to deal with her drama and attitude I’m sure she would've tossed you aside. You deserve way better. I know I did too when I was treated badly for years. After a ton of therapy dealing with addiction and battling depression someone showed up when I least expected it and it changed everything. Once I stopped being codependent and focused on myself I promised I’d never let myself get into a relationship like that again. I make sure the people I’m with don’t take me for granted or start with lies.
You deserve way better than this for real. Someone who’s emotionally stable and consistent not all over the place. I couldn’t handle that kind of treatment either. You deserve steady love affection and attention. I get that she might have her own struggles but sometimes you gotta put yourself first especially if someone’s making you feel less than or unloved. Focus on building your self-worth and walk away. Once you heal you’ll find someone who’s worth your time, someone who loves you all the time. Honestly I’d rather be single than deal with the kind of stuff your girlfriend’s saying to you. You deserve way better.
Bipolar doesn’t explain everything. Her vibe is just off. You’re honestly such a beautiful person. You deserve someone who’ll love you all the way
Get rid of her.
She’s bipolar so what she says today might not stick tomorrow. Don’t let it mess with your self-esteem alright?
