my ex (27M) and I (25F) dated for 7 months before he broke it off not cuz of losing feelings or not seeing a future but cuz of some heavy personal issues. We didn’t talk for like 6 months then randomly ran into each other a couple of times. The last time his fam was there too and they were pushing for us to go out again (like did they all talk about it or what?).
He ended up inviting me out and his fam was clearly in on it. He was super hyped texting about how excited he was to see me. We hung out it went fine and he said a couple of times he had a good time. No talk about getting back together which I was cool with since I like his vibe but don’t want to rekindle things.
A few days later I was in his area and asked if he wanted to grab tea. He was down but then asked why I hit him up like he was surprised I texted. It’s weird cuz we literally hung out a few days ago so it wasn’t that random. Plus when someone asks Why did you wanna meet up? it feels like they’re fishing for a specific answer.
This is the second time he’s asked me that and I’m starting to think he’s hoping I’ll say I wanna get back together. Feels like the whole invite me out thing and asking why I reached out is him testing the waters. But funny thing is he’s never actually said anything about it straight up.
I don’t wanna get back with him but can someone explain his behavior? Like what’s he doing?
My ex’s fam nudged us to reconnect after 6 months of no contact. We hung out twice and now he’s acting surprised when I reach out like he’s fishing for me to say I want to get back together.
