My ex dumped me 2 weeks ago while i was on a business trip by text.Yesterday i returned home and today he texted me 'i hope you returned safely ,take care'. i dont know if i should respond knowing that i will have to face him tomorrow at work.

I'm sorry he broke up with you over text. You deserve more than that. The uncertainty of whether or not to respond can make it worse if it's followed by overthinking. I'd say to not respond, not to be spiteful, but because of setting healthy boundaries and not giving him your time or energy if he couldn't discuss the breakup in person.
