he said he doesn’t want a relationship right now we were together for 5 years and just wants some time on his own but he’s said he doesn’t want anyone else and just me in the future but I feel strung along we’ve been on and off past years but this is both our first relationship I don’t want give up but I want peace at the same time. I need help :/

have you talked with him about what “time on his own” really means for both of you? sometimes clarity helps a lot.
yeah, i asked and he said he needs time to sort out his own problems and focus on himself for a while. i get it, but it’s just tough after everything we’ve been through. i’m trying to give him space and look after myself too.
i found giving myself boundaries helped like focusing on my own life while still caring. it doesn’t make you selfish to need peace.
my ex wanted space too and i felt so torn between waiting and protecting myself. it’s HARD.
Let him go. He's keeping you on the hook in case he can't find anyone "better". Walk away and find someone who chooses you every time
