So I was besties with this guy let’s call him Patrick since 6th grade. By 8th grade, he confessed his love for me and we started dating. We were on and off for like three years and every time we’d hit 11 months we’d break up. The idea of making it to a year freaked him out every single time. Eventually I got tired of it. Our relationship was so sweet like the kind of love you see in movies no drama, no issues, just vibes. But I couldn’t deal with the cycle so I ended things.
Fast forward I met SpongeBob. Dreamiest but also the most toxic guy you’ll ever meet. I fell hard like still in love with him to this day. He’s got issues cheating family drama you name it. But when it’s just us it feels like the whole world disappears. After years together the cheating stopped and he started getting his life together. Now our only issue is communication like him letting me know when he’s home after going out just basic stuff.
The holidays are always rough for him though and we fight a lot around that time. He shuts down handles his problems alone even though I keep telling him I’m here to help. It’s tough. We didn’t talk for over a week recently because he was so depressed. And of course right during that time Patrick randomly called me. He confessed he’s still in love with me. He said he’s never met anyone like me looks for me in everyone he dates and it never works out. He said I’ll always have a place in his heart because we were each other’s first loves, and he wants to be with me again. He said stuff like I love making you laugh I love looking at you I never want to forget you and it gave me full on Notebook vibes. it’s wild after all these years he’s still this in love with me.
Now I’m torn. I know life with Patrick would probably be perfect no drama just laughs and love. But with SpongeBob, even though it’s rocky he’s grown so much and I feel like our journey together would still be amazing. But my feelings for him are fading a bit. We broke up recently because he disappeared for over a week out of town and since then he’s been acting right updating me and all that. I just don’t know what to do anymore.
Any advice?
