so i recently got broken up with and for the first few weeks i couldn’t sleep at all. every time i’d lay down i’d just toss and turn for hours. during that time i started working on a sleep focused magazine with a few others and thought it’d be cool to channel those feelings into my first article about how heartbreak messes with your sleep. so yeah i’m looking to talk to anyone who’s dealt with sleep issues after a breakup. if you’re down to share your experience, just dm or comment. thanks

I get the sleep struggle too like staying asleep all night is a mess. I’ll fall asleep for a bit but then I’m up multiple times and can’t stay out til morning. Normally I’d just wake up roll over and knock out deep again. But when you’re heartbroken falling back to sleep ain’t that easy. It’s like light stressed sleep. Breathwork helps a bit and even just talking to yourself or doing affirmations. You’re so chemically attached to the other person it takes time to let go it’s like a drug. Plus you’re full of cortisol from the stress of the breakup. Anything that helps is good but honestly sitting with the emotions and accepting them is a big part of healing.
