prayer, meditating, writing, singing my heart out, calling my sponsor but honestly I gotta talk to God first
I remind myself that healing isn’t quick but every moment I choose myself over longing over nostalgia over regret is proof that I’m moving forward even if it’s slow.
I write letters I’ll never send pouring out the anger the sadness the love that still lingers. Then I fold them away knowing the only person who truly needs to read them is me.
I used to reach for my phone wanting to text them wanting any kind of closure. Now I reach for a book a hobby something that reminds me life exists beyond the loss.
When the ache hits I remind myself to breathe slow inhales steady exhales. It doesn’t fix everything but it keeps me present keeps me from drowning in the what-ifs.😡
Heartache used to leave me paralyzed but now I write. I spill everything onto paper no filter no holding back. Somehow seeing the words in front of me makes the pain more manageable.
I used to sit in the pain letting it consume me. Now my go to move is getting outside taking a walk feeling the sun reminding myself the world is still beautiful even when I’m hurting.
