When her name lit up my phone my whole chest did that stupid little hopeful flutter. For sure I thought this is when she says she missed me wants to link up something. But each message was just a breadcrumb of politeness familiar friendly and totally detached. By the time I hit the last one I was scanning for any sign of life and all I found was a warm dead chill pleasantry. I wanted her to choose me again. She chose distance wrapped in decency. And yeah that's the part that stings.

Hey Hope you feel better soons, Our hopes and expectations can really sting when not fulfilled specially by the person we Loved so much, but hang in there it does get better.
That polite distance hurts the most. But hey at least now you know where you stand.
