people talk about those styles like they’re set in stone. but i’ve seen couples last when one learns to lean in a little and the other backs off less. it’s usually about whether they both actually want to.
i was anxious and he was avoidant too. for a while it kinda worked because i liked his calmness and he liked my energy. but when stress came up, it was hard. we cared a lot though, and that mattered more than the labels.
i dated someone avoidant while i was anxious. it was like begging for water in a desert. every time i wanted closeness he pulled away. i ended up feeling like i was too much when really he gave nothing back.
They can, and it s a bit hard to, but doable. They both have to learn how to process each other's emotions, but both have to work it, otherwise it will crumble veeery fast. My ex was anxious-avoidant which is hard to deal with since she craves attention and love, but her avoidant side will back away if it gets too emotional or problems appear. It s really important to communicate in order to do it as well.
my ex is a avoidant and iam the anxious one. she was a lot about we need to talk about things but when it came to it she cowering away or got angry because she did not like that she heard or what I said about my feelings
@fusionfall Yeah, i get what you mean, i mean my ex tried to label me as an avoidant person, which in reality she was projecting herself, cause i m anxious secure lol. The conversation has to be as less emotional as it can be so they can be into it and understand it. It's your emotions and what you feel after all, it has to be talked. It's not your fault she didn't listen, avoidants are more difficult than anxious people . I hope you are better now tho, if you need someone to talk to, I m here.
@AlexHadADay thank you I appreciate it. it’s been 1 day since we broke up. I take everything day by day. I don’t feel mush right now but I guess it should hit me in some days.

in my situation. I was the one having to change and she did not want to.
it's hard, but with alot of communication and hard work it's technically possible. but both parties have to be on board and willing to do changes
