I was good friends with this girl 2 years ago and it died out but she texted me again about 6 weeks ago and our connection clicked straight away, she was perfect but she told me you recently broke up with her boyfriend 3 weeks before texting me but I new I could just be a rebound but we FaceTime and texted every single day and night for 5 weeks. I even introduced her to my family and everything but the one thing that confused me was she still had photos of her and her x together on instagram and she replied with we are just friends now. but also the x would ring her non stop and show up to her house which she hated and left so she could get away. The next day she saw him a spoke to him and she said he will give her space and what not. but she continued talking to me and seeing me every day. fast forward a week we had planned a trip but I ended up with Covid but 3 days later I was fine and instead she didn’t want to come cause she was worried of getting sick which is fair. But instead you went to hangout with her guy friends I suppose I’m not sure who the guy was. but that turned into an argument and then she ghosted me for 2 weeks. her response was I didn’t respect her space and was disrespectful cause I was so confused with everything being ghosted for 2 weeks. she went on to say it’s over. “we can be friends but I can’t see myself giving you my love again and being there for you”. but I was so confused how she could ghost me for 2 weeks and all I said was fuck this and hangup the phone and said go see your guy friend and have dinner with his family. My main question is was I just a rebound and could she be back with her x?

it sounds like she kept you close while still figuring her ex out. the timing with her breakup, the calls, the ghosting, it lines up with how rebounds usually look.
i had a girl come back into my life right after her breakup too. it felt so real until suddenly it didn’t. i kept asking myself the same thing you are now. it hurt cause i cared more than she did.
yeah that rebound shit burns. i went through the same, gave my time and family and then watched her run back to the guy who blew her off. i was furious, felt like i got played the whole time.
