any tips on not checking their socials? I have not contacted him since when we broke up over text. the last message I sent to him was a screenshot of his dating profile one day after we broke up, called him a prick and blocked him. The only issue I have is checking his socials. it upsets me everytime I do bc he’s posting for attention and doing everything he said he wasn’t. I just can’t stop. pls if u have any tips and why I seem to keep doing it? I don’t even feel the need to text him that’s the thing that makes me confused.

what you wrote about him posting for attention stood out. sounds like you don’t even want to talk to him, it’s more about seeing if he’s consistent with what he said. i did the same. it felt like tracking lies more than missing him.
telling myself i just wanted to check once and then sitting there crying after. it’s like your brain wants proof he’s moved on even though it only makes it worse. i don’t think it means you want him back, it just means you’re hurting.
i used to scroll his shit till my chest felt sick. every pic felt fake like he was putting on a show just to get at me. i hated that i knew it hurt but still opened the app like some kind of punishment.
I know it is hard, I'm in the same place as you. always checking in them, eventually I would find something which trigger me and I will go back to day one. what I have learned is set yourself a target. like if you visit their social 10 times a day, then set a limit to yourself, that today you will visit their social only 5 times. this way you won't force yourself to cut this habit altogether but slowly. since you are used to checking their socials regularly it would be difficult to cut it down altogether, so just try to limit yourself and slowly bring this limit down to zero.
Well for me, i don't using my phone at all. I put airplane mode for it. Then do what ever you like, like for me:
1. Watching some film or drama then time fast so easyly as there need 1 to 2 hours to finished. Especially if it series..
2. Learn something new like languages, well its make me tired so i will sleep after that. Or you can do your work/study make ur self bussy.
3. Play some instrument if you have it and learn new song.
4. Go outside with your friend and have party of it. family/neigbour you can go outside with everyone. My recomendation go to waterpark or theme park, its really spend a lot of time.
5.If you still wanna use your social media, make second account and block him! then follow the things you like then algorithm will help.
lastly, promises ur self don't chat him. Make punishment and reward as well.. Hope you can pass this, Goodluck Girl ❣️
