I went on a family trip overseas to this resort and for the first few days it felt like something straight out of a Wattpad story. There was a Teens Club for ages 11–17 so my younger sister and I joined in. That’s where I met him.
He was practically perfect just a year older hazel eyes messy blond hair tall athletic… you get the picture. We talked constantly. He’d always look at me search for me in a crowd. When the Teens Club went to a waterpark he followed me around sat near me at lunch and made me feel like I was the only person there.
He was sweet kind and full of compliments. He’d never dated anyone before and I genuinely thought he might be the one. He gave me those eyes the kind that make you feel seen cherished maybe even loved. He brushed hair off my cheek once gently dunked me underwater at the pool splashed me playfully. It all felt so special. I really believed he could be my forever.
Then on his last night at the resort a new girl showed up. She wasn’t even staying there just had a day pass. And suddenly he was all over her. He gave her those same eyes. The same smile. The same attention. I watched him get close to her splash her with water and it crushed me.
His sister later told me he has a habit flirting with one girl then moving on to the next. I didn’t expect to cry so hard over someone I’d only known for a few days. But the next morning before he left he still looked at me. I was the last person he glanced at not her. And even now three weeks later I’m still not over it. I still have this massive crush on him even though he hurt me.
A few days after he left he texted me. He said My sister told me you had feelings for me and thought I liked [new girl’s name] but I didn’t. I was just following [another guy] who liked her. He apologized for hurting me and I told him it was okay. but It wasn’t. I’m not okay. So yeah… I still like him. And I don’t know what to do with all these feelings.
