I'm on ten days of NC but still can't avoid the fix of checking his social media. How do you manage to stop? I feel so weak.

I restricted his account cause we still have eachother on Instagram and muted his stories so I can't see what he posted and liked it's going kinda great 😃 but I'm scared
I've been there too 😂but with days goes on I have less and less urge to investigate.
I hope this happens..
these are two methods that helped with both breakups:
Extreme method:
• Block your ex on all platforms.
• Delete social media apps completely from your phone.
• No checking at all for a set period (e.g., 1 month) to fully detach.
Easy method:
• Keep social media but limit checking to once a day at a set time (like 3 PM).
• Use a timer to keep it very short (10-15 minutes max).
• Gradually reduce frequency and time over weeks as urges fade
Choose the one that feels right—total break or gentle timeboxing. Both work well to regain control I went total blocking this time around as the relationship was super toxic but either helps good luck 🥰
Amazing advice!
I had this same issue all last week. I had to delete the apps. I would be looking multiple times a day. even multiple times an hour. it got bad
How long have you managed now? and how do you feel different?
@HappyWave788 truthfully? I suck. I deleted them for a day or two then would redownload them jus to look at her stuff then delete em again. it’s hard. looking makes me feel like shit cuz all she does it post things that jus make me feel she’s over me and seeing someone else but it’s like a car accident I can’t look away from.
