I’ve never really been anyone’s first choice when it comes to relationships and after 36 years I’ve come to terms with that. I wasn’t actively looking for love.
Then I met this woman at a dinner party and out of nowhere she told everyone we were dating. I was stunned especially when she asked me to take her out that weekend. It was surreal and honestly kind of beautiful.
For a few weeks we were inseparable. It felt effortless and real. But slowly we started seeing less of each other and then she ended things. No warning. I was completely blindsided. It felt like the ground disappeared beneath me.
It only lasted eight weeks so I keep asking myself why does it hurt this much? There was no drama no betrayal no guilt. I gave it my all and I wouldn’t change a thing.
