Should I respond to the email?

Author

so my birthday was Sunday. I received a birthday email that I did not respond to. I have been 50 days no contact as of today. he sent me a follow up email the next day (Monday) yesterday asking am I safe as I was supposed to go to Jamaica and there is currently a bad hurricane there. I ended up going to Florida instead for my birthday but want to know, should I respond I am safe or ignore it and keep going? what would you do?

do you feel like hearing from him again might pull you back emotionally? or do you think you could respond and stay detached?

will be emotional but since it’s been so long and I have been better the emotion will be easier to pass.

honestly, if you’re still healing, it’s okay to not reply. silence is an answer. he’ll know you’re safe when he doesn’t hear otherwise. protecting your peace > being polite

mine reached out “just to check in” after a month of no contact. it messed with my head for days. sometimes their concern reopens wounds you’re finally healing

yes. I’m confused and mad at the same time. and he is in my head a lot now.

Ignore. You don't want to have to start over again! It may not go the way you want it to and you will be hurting all over again. No contact is the best way to go!
