The hearing took place, everything went perfectly, the difficult part will be over once the child will testify. At 51, I have to start my life over again, fortunately I have my children with me, the greatest blessing. thank you all for the support!

whenever something huge wraps up like this, i try to take it one tiny day at a time. not the whole “new life” thing at once. just the next morning, the next meal, the next small win.
i remember sitting in my car thinking “damn… i really gotta rebuild everything from zero.” it’s scary but that weird mix of relief and sadness is so real. i’m glad you’ve got your kids beside you
