same kitchen as me.

Author

long story short. me and my ex work at the Sam place. we work communal so school kitchen and stuff. yesterday she was at the kitchen I work at and it gave me a panic attack. I had to step away, call my boss, call health centre.

I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety. my medication for anxiety just makes me really tired to the point I fall asleep. Health centre recommended I go to them and take blood test to see if something is wrong with my organs and then go home and rest.

seeing her brings up so many happy, sad and angry memories. I miss her so much. but seeing her knowing what we had hurt me so mush.

I'm sorry this happend to you. I know how you feel. My narcissistisk, gaslighting and manipulate ex boyfriend work at the same place. Althought he studies now, he work there. When I see anyone with the same length or physique as him, i get anxiety. I have anxiety every day when I wake up.
Have you told your co workers and boss about her? maybe you can work in another station or do different work tasks for a while that you dont bumb into her as much. If you havnt told your work place about her, do it. So they can stand by you and know about what happend and how you feel. I had to do that and they already knew something was wrong with him...

did she say anything to you or was it just seeing her there that set everything off? i’m just trying to understand what the moment looked like for you.

i’d give myself permission to leave the room for a bit and not pretend i was “fine.” even just stepping outside for 2 minutes helped me reset. you’re already doing the right thing by reaching out to your boss and health centre. just take the day moment by moment. you don’t have to be strong today.

i used to work the same shift as my ex and the first time he walked in after the breakup my whole body just… collapsed. like my chest forgot how to breathe. it’s wild how someone who used to feel like home can suddenly feel like a trigger. you’re not crazy for reacting like that. it’s your heart remembering everything at once
