do you feel guilty because you’re not ready yet, or because it feels like you’re “replacing” him? sometimes the reason makes the feeling make more sense.

moving on feels weird at first. i just kept reminding myself that feeling guilty doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. it just means you cared a lot. go slow if you need to.
when my last relationship ended i tried going on a date like a month later and i literally sat in the parking lot shaking. the guilt was INSANE even though he was the one who left. it’s like your heart hasn’t caught up yet
OMG I FELT THE SAME EXACT WAY!! I went out with someone and almost the whole time I was thinking about him. and when we parted way I broke down and almost puked.. if you feel guilty try to take a little more time for you. make sure you're talking to people for the right reasons.

I also went on a date after 40+ days.
it was nice to go on a date and meet someone. I would say i am 80% ready to meet someone, i still have work to do... but it was nice seeing there are good guys out there.
but if u dont feel ready, u will be after few weeks so dont pressure urself...

Maybe you still have a sense of longing for him. Understandable. He meant so much to you. For me, I imagine I wont be able to date again until the spring. I always detach after heartbreak, but part me wants to go out to the places to date, the music scene, the vibe of the city, and meet new people where i live. I do it for distraction now though, but when I stop thinking of her like I want her back, thats when I know Ill be ready.
I can relate to that. I love a good distraction. I don’t necessarily long for him I think I just long for company if that makes sense ?
