It’s been almost a year since we went our separate ways. Because we still work together we see each other often and share laughs conversations and everything seems normal on the surface. She looks free and happy and I’ve tried to move on too.
But every now and then she talks about her new crushes or exes sometimes face to face sometimes through texts. That’s when old wounds reopen and I feel my soul bleed. While I listen politely later when I’m alone those words linger. Sometimes the pain lasts for hours even days depending on how triggering it is.
