My girlfriend and I were together for 2.5 years. A couple of months ago I went abroad for a semester and from the start the distance began to strain our relationship. We both grew increasingly unhappy so I suggested a three month break until I returned home for Christmas. We agreed the main issue was the distance since things had been good before and the plan was to take time apart then meet at Christmas to decide how to move forward. She agreed and from that point we were officially on a break.
About two weeks later I heard from friends that she had been drunk at a club and made out with another guy just four days after the break started. I don’t know how far it went but it hurt deeply making me feel instantly replaced.
A few days later we had a long phone call. She admitted she was hurting lonely and trying to distract herself but said she still wanted to be with me. During that call she confessed she had kissed someone else again while drunk insisting it “meant nothing.” Still it bothers me especially since she already knew how much the first incident had hurt me yet repeated it.
Technically she didn’t break any rules since we were on a break but the timing and the way I found out through friends makes it hard to move past. I don’t know if I can realistically let this go. On top of that I’m flying back abroad in two weeks so I feel pressured to figure out what I want even though I’m still unsure. I could really use some advice on how to handle this.

when you imagine going back abroad and staying with her, do you feel calmer or more anxious? like does your body relax at the thought, or tighten up?
i had a “break” turn into finding out through friends too, and that feeling of being replaced SO fast wrecked me. the rules might’ve been blurry but the pain was very real. i still remember that gut drop.
drop her. official labels shouldn’t be what makes someone be like that after a relationship (or during a break). If she valued what yall had enough she wouldn’t have done that
