In the quiet after the storm has passed

In the quiet after the storm has passed,
Lies the heart, fragile, broken, aghast.
Echoes of laughter, whispers of names,
Turn to shadows, the heart's lonely refrains.

Tears trace rivers down cheeks so worn,
For love that was, now love forlorn.
A soul's silent plea to the stars above,
To mend the shards of a lost, tender love.

Yet in this ache, where sorrow is steep,
Grows a strength, a resolve so deep.
For even in heartbreak, there's beauty in pain,
Like the promise of sun after soft, cleansing rain.

So let the heart grieve, let it cry, let it yearn,
For it's in the breaking, that we truly learn.
That love is a journey, not just a sweet start,
And even in ending, it leaves its mark on the heart.
