We broke up seven months ago, and I’m still holding onto him. A month after our breakup, he started dating someone new, and they’re still together. I really want another chance with him, but I feel hopeless because he’s already in a new relationship and has been cold toward me. From what I’ve heard, reconnecting usually only happens when the guy still has feelings — and I don’t think that’s the case here.

You can just try talking to him. Be open and honest. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Why do you want another chance with a person that doesn't love you? And above of it, he started dating someone new A MONTH after your relationship. Do you think he loved you when you were together?
Don't go back, don't look at what he's doing. Nothing, he must be dead to you.
You must do the work, don't numb yourself, don't betray yourself.
You must accept this truth: The relationship between you and him IS OVER.
Don't ever go back with someone that changed you so easily.
Block him, don't talk to him.
Do the work, look forward, be patient.

Yeah when men are done it’s definite that door is shut tight. I know it sounds really horrible now but it will help you with the healing because a man who doesn’t think you should be in his life isn’t worth you and your effort cause he will never truly appreciate you, and you deserve better than that.
