About a week ago I got into a car accident because of bad weather, I was okay I was more embarrassed than actually injured, my ex has been texting me because... I don't even know. He accidentally "texted" me once, and then he texted me a happy birthday text, which both texts I ignored and then last night he texted me telling me he saw photos of my accident and that he hoped I was okay, and like an idiot I fell for it because it tugged at my heartstrings that he even cared, so I texted back. And now that he's not texted back I feel like an idiot that got duped.

A genuine check-in I think? I purposely made it a point to not tell him because I knew that the split was too fresh and I was going to be in a world of hurt if I didn't get the response I wanted.
it sucks but try to remind yourself that a text doesn’t erase the past. focus on your healing first, not his little check-ins
Yep! It doesn't erase the pass, I've cut off all means for him to contact me at this point. :)
