Back to no contact.

Author

Yesterday I finally blocked his contact so we'd stop texting, and now that we're officially back to no contact and I can no longer just message him anymore it's really uncomfortable. I feel sick to my stomach, I think texting with him helped settle my nervous system, but now that I know I no longer have that option my nervous system is in full panic mode making me feel crappy.

have you tried replacing the texting habit with something small you enjoy? even tiny distractions can calm the panic a little.

i found journaling or just talking to a friend helped me when the panic hit.

i had to go full no-contact too, and the first few days my chest literally felt like it was collapsing. it gets easier, promise

it sounds like you might have anxious attachment. I only say this because I also have one and I know the feeling you're describing all to well. you believe that the only way to soothe the anxiety is by contacting them because that's what your anxious attachment tells you. but trust me, it only starts the pain and anxiety cycle all over again. it's good that you took your option of being able to contact him away. just continue to stay strong and don't listen to that anxiety. you got this đź–¤
