when you say you know it won’t end well, what usually breaks first for you when you try again?
i’ve written almost the same words to someone i loved but couldn’t keep without losing myself. that knowing it’s impossible but still wanting them so badly, it’s a special kind of ache. i remember thanking them through tears too. like love mixed with grief
my mom told me if I truly loved him, I would let him go and recognize I’m not good for him. this was hard to hear but in reality I do love him. this is why I think they say “if you love something, let it go.” this is what your words reminded me of tonight
