I just broke up with him now. We had a complicated relationship he is 24 I’m 16. I always asked him if he was really sure about this and he said yes that I was his world, that he couldn’t live without me and that he would never leave me. We were always friends at first and he really likes me as person so he wants to stay friends. Should I let go? Or stay friends?

Feels like I would always have hope for more so that’s actually just self sabotaging I guess…
staying friends only worked once i was actually detached. before that, it just reopened the wound every time we talked.
i was 16 once with someone way older who swore i was his world. when it ended, the “let’s stay friends” thing kept me stuck and confused for way too long 😮💨 that age gap promises messed with my head.
