Still Single and Healing after breakup: Waiting for the Right Person

Author

I saw this image today and it really hit home. I’m currently single because I’ve chosen to focus on personal growth, getting to know myself better, and—most importantly—taking the time to heal.
I’ll be honest: I’m still navigating some strong feelings for my ex, and I know I’m not quite ready to jump back into the dating world until I’ve fully moved on and healed. I’m patiently waiting for the right person, but I want to be my best self when they arrive.
I’m curious—which one of these clouds describes your journey right now?

when you say you’re still navigating strong feelings for your ex, do you feel like it’s love… or more the attachment and history?

for me, healing wasn’t this clean “i’m fully over them now” moment. it was more like slowly caring less, day by day. i stopped rushing myself to be ready. that took some pressure off.

i chose to stay single after my breakup because i knew i was still carrying feelings. i tried dating too soon once and it just made everything messier 😮‍💨 focusing on myself felt lonely at first but also… grounding. that “i want to be my best self when the right person comes” mindset? i relate to that heavy

me 2. It is okay to focus on your healing until you are ready. There is no rush.
