Yep. You read that correctly. Basically, he broke up with me for someone else after 1 year together. Then last Friday, he texted me. I didn't respond. I wanna be friends again. But just not yet. But good news, I'm moving on. Slowly, but I am. I guess him texting me really threw me off. It took everything in me not to text him back and tell him everything that's been going on. He used to be the one I'd run to when I had a long day. Now, I don't have anyone. But, the brake up has helped me too. So I can't be to mad.

when he texted you, was it like… a casual “hey” or did he try to start a whole conversation? sometimes the tone says a lot about what they’re really wanting.

for me, i had to wait until the urge to trauma-dump faded before even considering friendship. you don’t owe him access to your life while you’re still steadying yourself. taking your time is actually the healthy thing.

my ex left me for someone else too, then popped back up like nothing happened. that first “hey” after the betrayal messes with your whole brain. you’re doing better than you think by not answering
thanks. but I'm very used to someone leaving me for someone else. thats not what hurt the most. I think what hurt the most is that it happened 2 weeks before my birthday, and a month after our 1 year anniversary.
