i used to bawl for hours when thinking about my ex. what helped me a bit was blasting music and writing down every little memory. it sounds dumb but it worked sometimes.
i cry a lot over my ex and I think that is fine because that is part of the healing process. I try to think what made me cry when I cry and tell myself, that I did nothing wrong
One day I told myself that I wasn't going to waste any more time crying over someone who wasn't wasting their time crying over me, and after that, I never cried again.
i think after sometime distracting works but you've to let it out good first. then do something productive or watch fun videos that you like to watch or actuvities that requires your whole focus and stuff...
