I feel like I’ve been led on in a way. I went to a party my ex was at and we had a couple good chats here and there and at the end I said to him text me if you want to see me again and he asked did you want to go for coffee and I said sure. I haven’t heard from him since and it’s been 3 days, I know it’s nearly Christmas so it’s a hectic time of year so I’m hoping he messages after but he also may have been drunk. I feel so disappointed and felt so much false hope

when you think about it honestly, did the chats feel consistent and intentional, or more like fleeting party energy that you wanted to mean more?
what helped was not filling in the silence for them. drunk words and sober actions don’t always line up, especially with exes. the disappointment makes sense, even if the reason ends up being boring or messy
that post-party hope is brutal. i had an ex talk sweet, make plans, even suggest coffee, then vanish. i spent days replaying it thinking maybe i imagined the connection. that false hope HURTS
