I have a voice message of him saying that he loves me and I play it in my ear as I fall asleep because it genuinely helps me sleep better and makes me feel like he's there to comfort me which makes me hallucinate less but I can't help but feel like it's wrong and weird when I do it now since we've started no contact but the night feels so empty without it...

when you listen to it, does it feel comforting after, or does it make the ache worse in the morning?
It makes everything feel comforting
i get why you’re conflicted. no contact can feel so empty at first
i did this too i had a voice note of him saying “i’m proud of you” and i’d replay it every night just to feel safe. especially when everything felt loud in my head. when we went no contact, the silence felt SO heavy. i remember thinking, is this pathetic? is this wrong? but honestly… it was just me trying to survive the night. that’s not weird. that’s hurting.
Yes! Thank you. So many people are saying to stop and to delete it but it's seriously the only thing that means something to me.
Honestly, it may provide temporary relief but it will keep you stuck! Just hit delete & once its done you can't get it back
One word answer: You're torturing yourself everyday.
FORGET EVERYTHING!
You're only torturing yourself really...it might feel comforting in the moment but it only keeps you stuck. Delete and move on. I had to do that, delete everything he ever sent, and it was so hard, but it's important to do these things to move on.
Its quite sad hey..
delete and stop tormenting yourself.
i found this difficult to do so i screen recorded the chat before deleting it and then deleted the screen recording. i go back and look at it sometimes but try not to. after 30 days it deletes permanantly then i wont be able to look again.
delete his messages and move on girls
no its completely normal but feels like a humiliation ritual...you will get over it 1 day
