Is my boyfriend's friendship a red flag?

i’ve been with my boyfriend for 3 years and we’re honestly pretty different. i’m more focused on school don’t really party and keep a small circle while his life revolves a lot around his friends who are always calling him late at night to hang out. some of the stuff they send him already makes me uncomfortable like posts about girls and jokes about cheating.
there’s one friend in particular he’s really close with and their dynamic just feels off to me. they act really immature sending each other inappropriate stuff and joking in ways that don’t sit right with me. recently i saw a conversation between them that actually hurt. his friend said he was hoping we’d break up after an argument and my boyfriend replied me too but my girl doesn’t want.
his friend kept pushing it saying things like just do it and calling me names and what hurt the most was my boyfriend didn’t defend me at all. when i brought it up he said it was all jokes and that i’m reading too much into it. he apologized and said he’d stop but it’s not even about that for me. it’s that he said it in the first place.
that me too hasn’t left my head. it doesn’t feel like a joke. it feels like maybe there was some truth behind it even if he keeps saying it meant nothing.
