Why no contact might be the key to your healing after breakup

Author

No contact is definitely the way to go. A lot of people think no contact is to get the other person back to pull them back in, but it’s really for the individual to get back to the emotional baseline of who they were prior to that relationship. That way you can begin to make reasonable decisions and see things more clearly from a regulated state.

when you say emotional baseline, do you feel like you’ve started getting back to it yet? or are you still in that in-between phase where everything feels loud and raw

i used to think no contact was some strategy to make her miss me. like if i disappeared she magically come back but when i finally did it for ME? that’s when things shifted. i started remembering who i was before i was constantly anxious, checking my phone, overthinking every little thing. it wasn’t about them anymore. it was about getting my nervous system out of survival mode.

After three weeks of no contact, I'm starting to see things a lot clearer. I know now what I *won't* settle for anymore.
