Coping with long distance: missing my boyfriend during his retreat

My boyfriend and I have been together for five months. We met in college and started dating in our second semester after spending so much time together during the first. We really love each other and we've always had great communication.
Right now we're doing long distance because of our semester break which lasts about 80 days. The first 40 days have already been hard.
A few days ago he left for a 15-day meditation retreat. He told me months ago that he wanted to do it because he felt like he had no focus or clarity in life. I knew this was important to him but it was still really hard for me to accept.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to get through these 15 days without talking to him. I'm so used to sharing every little part of my day with him sending random updates flirting and just having him there. I know this period without contact will probably be good for both of us but I still miss him so much.
I end up crying whenever I think about him.

my ex went quiet for a few months.. days would be easy.

stay strong and remember its only temporary find things you like to do, go for a walk in the park etc

i started treating it like small chunks of time instead of the full stretch. just get through today. no big pressure to be okay with the whole distance at once.

15 days can feel huge when someone is your daily person. i’ve been there, my ex went quiet for a week and it felt like my whole routine just fell apart. i was texting into empty space out of habit and it stung every time i remembered why.

was there anything you two agreed on for how to stay connected during this break, or is it fully no contact while he’s on retreat?

try to keep in mind that this is only temporary. use the time you normally would talk to him to strengthen existing relationships in your life (friends, family), or to learn something new, try a new hobby. you will have plenty to catch up on when he gets back!
