Why losing someone can feel like a blessing

Sometimes the most painful rejection is actually protection, even when it feels like punishment. What didn’t choose you was never aligned with your highest good, no matter how deeply you believed it was. Not everything that feels familiar or comforting is meant to stay, and not every loss is a failure. Some doors close because walking through them would have cost you parts of yourself you shouldn’t have had to give up.

i didn't lose the life i deserved, i lost the one that couldn't truly meet me where i was. it took a while before i believed that, but it slowly became real.

i HATED hearing people say "everything happens for a reason" while i was hurting. but months later i realized the relationship i was begging for would've kept asking me to shrink myself. that thought still gets me through the hard days
