my relationship lasted for a year and a half and it made me the most insecure I have ever been. for context, I have struggled with an eating disorder before I met this person and during the relationship he would constantly show an attraction to girls on the smaller side so I felt I had to look like that too. we broke contact after 6 months and I feel like the feelings are coming back again and I constantly have the need to look a certain way. it’s affecting my mood so much and the only high I get is when I entertain those thoughts. the urge is not as strong as it once was 2 years ago but I feel like I’m getting worse everyday. I don’t know what to do or how to fix myself

I would definitely stick to fully no contact. Listen to self-love affirmations on repeat everyday. Block him on every social media app and his number too. Start small by going for walks outside and pour love back into yourself. My ex would sit next to me, stare at pictures of pretty, skinny girls, whistle and say “isn’t she pretty?” I wanted to smack him right then and there but instead I laughed it off but then cried myself to sleep every night. Men aren’t worth the mental energy we give them.
I’m so sorry for what you went through I hope you get better ❤️
i have this, my ex really made me insecure. I’m seeing someone else and he’s amazing but I’m so insecure about my body and everything now because of my ex, I just wish I didn’t feel like that if I’m honest
I never thought that he hates me so much. Like come on, you where the love of my live. Why I am not yours?
i had to cut out anything that kept feeding that comparison loop, even tiny things like scrolling habits or checking how i looked after every meal. i started doing the bare minimum for my body and stopping there, no punishment, no “fixing”
You deserve to be free of that negativity and toxicity in your life. You're beautiful and special the way you are. I hope you might decide to stay no contact with that person, and that the time will help you to heal by loving and caring for yourself first.
i’ve been there in a way that changed how i saw my own body too. being with someone who keeps pointing attention toward a certain type of body stays in your head long after they’re gone.
have you noticed if the urges get worse after certain triggers, like social media or memories of him, or does it feel constant through the day
mostly memories of him and the other girls he was attracted to while talking to me
