It's been a few days since the breakup and I thought it was going to hurt a lot more than this because I loved him more than life. A few times in the past few days the pain has come in an overwhelming flood and I cry a lot, but for the most part, I've been able to go about my daily life without feeling the hurt. Even when I think about it, I don't really feel anything. Does this mean that I'm healing, or am I just in shock? And does this mean that I didn't truly love him?

i don't think this says anything about how much you loved him. i stopped trying to measure my grief because it came in waves, and letting it come however it wanted helped me way more.
after my breakup i kept waiting for the pain to completely crush me, but most days i just felt weirdly numb. then it would hit me out of nowhere at the grocery store or before bed
was the breakup something you saw coming, or did it happen out of nowhere? sometimes that makes the numbness hit really differently.
I saw it coming for 1-2 weeks beforehand but I tried desperately to fix everything before it fell apart. Letting go has been the hardest part, I think
it could just be the way you process your emotions, it’s hard to know why unless you do some deep digging. maybe you subconsciously ignore the pain because it’s too much, maybe you never were attached to begin with, or maybe you just have a delayed response to processing tough emotions. have you had past breakups (romantic or platonic) where you felt everything?
I've had breakups before but I didn't really love them, so it was relatively easy to forget them. what I'm confused about in this case is that sometimes it hurts so badly, like last night, when I cried myself to sleep. But then other times I don't feel it at all.
We will going be fine :(
I felt similar to this too. Me and my boyfriend rushed into things and we both said I love you really fast and I don’t know how I felt but I said I love you back to him and I don’t think that I ever really loved him. I think that I just felt pressured to say it back to him because I didn’t want him to leave but straight after the breakup I didn’t cry at all, even though I was really sad. It took a few weeks after the breakup for me to actually finally cry.
