my 2nd to last relationship took me almost 2 years!! then I vowed I'd never fall in love again but a year and 6 months ago I let someone in and he reminded me why I made that vow to myself. he broke me into pieces, he hurt me to my very core. he killed me slowly but he made sure I live to be miserable and misunderstood and I hate him for that. this time I'm standing on my words. I hate loving someone wholeheartedly.
i quit trying to force myself to "detach" by a certain date. once i stopped treating it like a race, it happened a lot more naturally for me.
im almost 4 months post break up. 19 days no contact. no way for him to contact me other than email, but I doubt he's that smart and I was very hateful in reactions according to him. I also have a new phone number due to career change. I still check n hope. but not to get back together. just for closure and some sort of accountability on his end as well. I know its not who he is and wont happen. but that hope is still there. I think time is different relationship to relationship. stay busy without avoiding the healing process. when tou are triggered, have a list of activities to get you through those moments.
first time we went no contact too. it took me around 3 months before i stopped checking my phone every five minutes, and even then some days still stung.
was that first no contact the final breakup, or did you two end up talking again after those 2 months?
