Should i forgive him again? the pain of his words

My LDR boyfriend of almost 2 years, I felt like we were soulmates when we're not fighting, but during arguments, he's so harsh with his words. I didn't like it so I kept on calling him out that kind of behavior 'cause I didn't want to resent him. though he kept on apologizing after, but the fact that he kept on doing that on almost every of our arguments, it's really draining me. Everytime I brought the hurt he caused, he felt like i was just bringing chaos and frustration and got so defensive about it. This recent argument, he told me he's so done with all my crap, that the dynamic was so toxic, I decided to do no contact and just within 24hours he apologized again. But I felt his apology's useless because he will then do it again if I will allow him ๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ’”

i don't think i could trust another apology unless i saw different actions for a LONG time. i learned the hard way that apologies without change just kept me stuck in the same hurt.

has he ever gone through a disagreement with you without calling you names or saying something cruel, or has it always ended this way?

i stayed with someone who always apologized after saying the cruelest things, and after a while i stopped believing the words "i'm sorry" because nothing ever changed. that cycle wore me down more than the fights did.

exactly, I told him that but it even become my fault ๐Ÿ’” anyway, he deleted his apology after seeing I didn't open his message on messenger

@DreamLand746 to me, this also would indicate that he wasnโ€™t sincerely sorry, he just wanted a reaction from you. Keep ignoring him!

the best apology is changed behavior. otherwise, heโ€™s just giving you whiplash. treating you poorly and then saying all the right words to apologize, until it inevitably happens again
