I will try to make it short as much as possible. We broke up "kinda in a good terms" 3 weeks ago. As sum up we both figure out we might be just not right for each other, but deep down I knew the treatment I have received no one would tolerate. Many times protected myself from letting him go and agreed and tolerated too lot just to be with him. After months of constant fighting and treating me with silence we were good for unfortunately just 2 weeks. After that cuz of again unreasonable treating me with silence I panicked, no matter how he was there and supporting me trying to get my thoughts away I gave up and said it's over, I don't believe it will ever change. For him it was something crazy, but wanted to end with respect. We broke up during our university exams, that's why we were giving each other so much support in terms of study. He decided to better let it go to stop contacting for a while. Even tho passed 4 days, I started to have thoughts that I gave up on my true first love just cuz I had to finally choose myself. Started to hate him that I had to do it. When he wrote to me again started to blame him for everything has happened. We decided to end on a good terms I have received so much support from his side and I just started blaming him again. I feel like the worst person ever at the moment, cuz still I love him, and let myself to frustration get over me. By this action I know I have lost him forever. Not in terms of relationship, cuz I knew we couldn't be together. I just have lost my boy, his love to me and made an impression it was a good choice for him. I don't ask for a support, I just want to know what has happened to me and why I just couldn't on a good terms let it go.

don't think you "couldn't" let it go on good terms. i think weeks of feeling unheard finally came out all at once. what helped me was accepting that i wasn't just grieving the breakup, i was grieving every time i swallowed my own hurt to keep the peace.
if a close friend told you they were being met with silence after every conflict, would you want them to keep fighting for that relationship, or would you tell them they deserved something steadier?
I know I have made a right decision. More I regret to again blame him for everything, when we agreed we forgive each other and walk away peacefully. After my behavior made him to hate me. the most important why I even care 😅
i stayed way too long with someone who kept giving me the silent treatment, then when i finally left i somehow felt like i was the one who ruined everything. guilt can get REALLY loud after choosing yourself.
