it's been about 7 months now since she broke up with me and i decided to go no-contact instead of staying friends.
the breakup really destroyed me. although our time together was only a year, I had feelings for her for multiple years, so when it ended, it hurt my heart really, really badly. I stopped eating for days. I just didnt have the appetite. It was around new year and everyone was out partying and I stayed at home and cried like the whole day and into the night and my eyes were sore and my voice was dead but the tears kept coming. and I've been crying every morning and every night for months on end.
but lately, i think things have changed. I stopped crying so much, and the pain doesnt hurt so sharply... it just shifted. now I just feel an emptiness, like something's missing and I try to give myself a sense of catharsis by playing songs that remind me of her, but those songs don't really make me feel anything anymore. i'm tired of hurting, yet I wanna stay hurt because I wanna be close to her, and i feel like hurting means she mattered. but now? I feel nothing, really. Just empty and guilty. im wondering if this is normal, because when I see people who are moving on, usually its not them wanting to stay hurt or deliberately try to make themselves feel sad again, its the opposite... you know, telling themselves they deserve to be happy, or just looking for another relationship in general. thats usually how I pictured/viewed moving on as. but what im feeling right now is immense guilt, and i still try to deliberately get in my feels again, and im not sure if thats moving on or... yea. is this normal?

reaching the point where i couldn't cry anymore, and that scared me more than the crying did. i thought if the pain faded, i was somehow leaving them behind, and that guilt stayed with me for a while.
I have had the feeling you describe. For me it was my grandma who I lost suddenly when I was 10. Well into adulthood my grief was so painful and unresolved, and thinking of her even for seconds brought me to tears instantly. In the past few years that hasn’t been the case and I’ve found myself missing that intensity of emotion, because even though it was painful I felt deeply connected. It makes sense, as breakup is a form of grief and no matter how much we heal for a time we will be reluctant to let go of that final tether. But you mustn’t feel guilty, it is a positive sign of complete healing coming your way, which is a very good thing!
you just can't aceept that relay is done but believe if that person is your mine him willl comeback to you but if not good for you, you have to accept the fact
