In these quiet moments,
Just when I think I'm doing better,
Is when the pain sneaks up on me.
Like a tsunami you never saw coming,
No chance to prepare,
And nowhere to run.
Nothing to do but stare up at the uncoming wave,
And wonder when your lungs will stop burning.

i learned that i had to stop fighting those sudden waves and just let them pass without judging myself for hurting again. some days are heavy, even when you’ve been trying so hard.
sitting in the silence wondering why it still hurts when i was doing better. when those moments hit you now, is there usually something that brings the pain back or does it come out of nowhere?
those moments when i thought i was finally okay, then one random quiet night brought everything rushing back. that wave feeling is so real, like your heart forgot to warn you.
