I wanted to hold your hand at 80 and smile because we made it.
Everything I felt for you was intentional. I didn’t just want moments with you, I wanted a life with you. I imagined us growing old together, laughing at the little things, touching your butt in front of our grandkids just to embarrass them, sharing the excitement of your new clothes and new pictures, and being the person you came to in tears and left smiling.
I wanted to be your home, and I wanted you to be mine.
Those dreams may no longer be ours, and I’ve made peace with that. What we hoped for doesn’t always become what life has planned.
Even so, I hold you in the highest regard. I wish nothing but success, peace, and prosperity for you, for your parents, your siblings, your future children, and everyone you love. May life be kind to you in ways greater than we ever imagined.
Some people are meant to stay, and some are meant to leave us with gratitude. I’ll always be grateful that, for a time, it was you.

this is such a beautiful way to love someone.
did you ever get the chance to tell them all of this, or are these the words you've been carrying by yourself?
These words are fresh in my heart, but I know she already knows them I told her more than this before I was blocked. I could say more, by creating another account but I choose not to. Respecting her peace is a choice I’m confident in.
i used to picture us as those old goofy grandparents too, making dumb jokes and growing into each other. letting go of that future hurt more than losing the relationship itself.
As we grow, we learn that heartbreak and goodbyes are simply part of life. They have always existed and always will. The heart may be the most vulnerable part of us, while our words often reveal our greatest strength. Losing her wasn’t just about losing a person, it was letting go of the future I had imagined with her. That’s where the pain truly lies. Not in what was, but in accepting that what I hoped for will no longer be.
